Johnny Knoxville Breaks Down His Biggest Injuries

Johnny Knoxville is one tough b*stard. If you’ve seen any of his stunts in Jackass, you probably suspect this, but listening to him break down his list of injuries in a video for Vanity Fair isn’t just intriguing, it’s bloody scary how much pain this man can endure. Have a crack at the video below and relive some of the tremendous damage his body has experienced.

The first one is an infamous video from Big Brother Magazine. If you remember this skit, you can probably recall Knoxville, wearing a bulletproof vest, shooting himself in the chest. Still, that’s not his memory of where the real pain comes in. Yeah-nah, that was just pants-shittingly terrifying for his mates who refused to pull the trigger. According to Knoxville, the real pain was the pepper spray.

Then of course, he touches base on a few of his Jackass injuries. We’ll gloss over the fact that he could have quite easily had a rocket punch through his body on the acme rocket launch, and focus on the ‘bout’ with Butterbean. As Knoxville explains, you can physically see Butterbean knock him out on his feet. He smashes his head on the way down – and then, when he is brought back to consciousness, his first thought is to ask how Butterbean is doing.

Then there’s the motorcycle injury. F**k that. Any injury where you bleed from the dick is, quite simply, not something I ever want to deal with. That can simply go to hell. Still though, I’m not sure that’s as bad as blowing your nose and having your eye pop out. I don’t know about you, but my pain threshold is pretty much set to ‘pussy’ and I don’t know how I would deal with anything of that magnitude ever happening to me.

Final thought: throughout all of this, it’s easy to see why Knoxville is so loved. He reminisces about all this pain – and he’s had more than his fair share – as if he’s talking about the good old days. Good on ya, Johnny. You put yourself through hell for our laughs. You’re a top bloke.
