Bloke turns melons into amazing musical instrument

You know, if you’re creative enough, bloody anything can be a musical instrument. Deadset, whether you’re twanging the elastic band wrapped around a tissue-box, thumping mum’s pots with a wooden spoon, or sticking a kazoo up your arse, you’re sure to love this video of a bloke turning a rack of sliced melons into a s**t-hot musical instrument.

Now, we know you might have been thinking the bloke had hollowed ‘em out and made a set of weird maracas with them, but if you were, you’d be dead wrong. Yeah, nah, this s**t is way better than that.

The bloke, who goes by the name of Mezerg on YouTube is a bit of a muso who specialises in electronic music. While he’s usually doing some pretty quirky s**t with his theremin, this video sees him busting out some fat beats with the help of the fore-mentioned melons.

In the video, you’ll see he’s attached the slices to his Playtron Playtronica. Now, we don’t really know too much about those, so we’ve gone and done a bit of a Google search.

Apparently, this thing lets you make midi music on fruit. Go figure. We’re sure someone in the comments will be able to tell us more about it, but it’s not really relevant.

Yeah, nah, what’s relevant is that this track is a f**ken banger. It’s perfect for summer, and it’s got the added benefit of letting the man smash down the watermelon when he’s done with it!

Final thought: Really, there’s not much to say except we reckon this could kick-start a whole genre of fruit-and-veg-based music. Imagine it: you’ve got a bloke with a mullet beating his gherkin for percussion, a chick on the left fingering her date, a dude playing with his banana, and another sheila rocking her melons. F**k yes, fruit! F**k yes!
