Latest optical illusion has people debating whether this is a crow or a rabbit
When it comes to wildlife, there are some animals that are a bit obscure and strange. Those are the ones we need our mate Davo Attenborough to identify for us. When it comes to some of your more common species, though, we’re all over it. You line up some of the more common species and we can rattle their names off like a bloody zookeeper. Or so we thought. Yeah, nah, with a new video confusing the crap out of people everywhere, we’re now not so sure we can tell a rabbit from a crow.
On the face of it, that should be one of the easier ones. If it’s a rabbit, it’s gonna have big pointy ears and cute little whiskers. If it’s a crow, its infernal cawing is gonna annoy the piss out of you when you’re trying to sleep. It’ll also have a beak. And wings.
But herein lies the problem. It turns out that if you get ‘em at just the right angle, it’s pretty bloody tricky to tell the two apart. Yeah, nah, don’t laugh. It’s not as easy as discerning a freckle from a finger, all right.
The reason we say this is because another ‘optical illusion’ video doing the rounds is making regular blokes like us feel pretty bloody dumb. Yeah, in this one, you’re challenged to decide whether the animal enjoying a nice bloody scratch is a rabbit or a crow.
It was uploaded to twitter by biological psychiatry researcher, Dan Quintana, from the University of Oslo. He captioned the video with the following: “Rabbits love getting stroked on the nose.”
And, yeah, we know. You’d be forgiven for thinking that makes it a rabbit, but have a squiz and you might not be so sure.
Final thought: Just when you’re thinking that there can’t possibly be anymore optical illusions for them to share, they just keep finding more stuff for us. So, let us know what you reckon this one is in the Facebook comments.
