Fake power outlet stickers exist and are f*cken evil!
If you’ve ever travelled long distance – or even reasonably short distance – you know how stressful it can be to have a rapidly dwindling phone, tablet or laptop battery. In those moments an unused power point can feel like a boon of the gods. Imagine how you’d feel then if you finally found one, only to discover it was a mirage, a sham, a prank…
That’s exactly the situation facing travellers who’ve fallen victim to a devious little ploy masterminded by some cheeky little trickster. And if it’s not some cheeky little trickster, it’s no doubt some trickster god; perhaps Loki or Anansi the spider.
Have a squiz at these photos and put yourself in the shoes of these travellers. Can you feel the frustration? Can you feel the desperation? The sheer rage at these imposter power points?
Whoever put up this fake sticker of an open outlet at the airport, you are now my enemy for life. pic.twitter.com/TYEJKmY6Zg

Take Brandon Ewing for example. This poor bloke was devastated when he succumbed to the wiles of whoever it is that’s laying these traps. “Whoever put up this fake sticker of an open outlet at the airport, you are now my enemy for life.”
Why!!!! It looks so real!! Why put a sticker of an outlet on the wall in the terminal !! So triggered pic.twitter.com/1TTWtmXUS7

Then you’ve got Kyle Kerouac. “Why!!! It looks so real!!! Why put a sticker of an outlet on the wall in the terminal!! So triggered.” Indubitably, Kyle, while on the road was so triggered he forgot about the existence of question marks.
I SAT HERE SO I COULD CHARGE MY PHONE BUT THIS OUTLET IS A FUCKING STICKER IM SO MMAD NDKSKSK pic.twitter.com/ER96aAiVB8

Then there was K. “I SAT HERE SO I COULD CHARGE MY PHONE BUT THIS OUTLET IS A F**KING STICKER IM SO MMAD NDKSKSK.” Talk about unleashing the fury.
Final thought: Whoever the prankster responsible for this shenanigans is, we can safely bet that they’re sitting in a lair somewhere sipping a chocolate milkshake and feeling very, very happy with themselves. Providing that person is a kid, we can probably say well-played, ya legend. If it’s an adult, we probably need to tell them to pull their head in and, in the words of Eddie Murphy, tell them that sh*t ain’t funny mother**ker!
