Anyone who’s taken the brave step of adding their older family members to their Facebook friends list knows all too well that baby boomers use the internet a little differently to those of us from younger generations. Don’t get us wrong. We don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing, but it is a thing. They really do use Facebook differently. We, like most of the internet, became aware of this site after Twitter user @manhattana posted a thread detailing her experiences as part of the group.

The posts are uncannily similar to the ones your Aunts and Uncles put on their Facebook walls.

She began the thread by stating, “Joined that Facebook group where you can only talk like Boomers and I’m having the time of my life.”

As a result, you get to see tonnes of hilariously formatted posts that become the kind of conversations that would really play out better in the Messenger app. You’ve also got a bloody massive variety of sad posts shared on colourful backgrounds and misuse of the laughing so hard you’re crying emoji.

Just looking through the posts @Manhattana shared, you’re not gonna be too hard-pressed to find something you can relate to if you share internet space with older relatives. And, er, yeah, some of these are so bloody close to the truth, we’re not entirely sure they weren’t posted by Baby Boomers in the first place.
