What it’s like to grow up in the coldest place on Earth!

We’re not gonna lie to you, the truth is that Australia has some pretty f**ken cold locales, but for the most part, us Australians are known for enjoying a warm climate. Yeah, nah, in Summer, the humidity means you spend half the time swimming in ball soup, and the other half sucking up any air-con you can. That’s why we always love these videos about what it’s like to grow up in Yakutia, the coldest place on Earth.

Right, so straight up, we’ll give you an idea of just how cold it is in Yakutia. Apparently, it’s not unusual for the joint to reach temperatures of minus 71 degrees Celsius. Considering we throw on a f**ken jacket whenever the temperature drops below 20 degrees Celsius, we’re confident in saying that s**t’ll freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Anyway, we’re waffling. Today’s video features YouTuber Kian B explaining what it was like to grow up in Yakutia. As you can imagine, there’s a lot of fur hats, fur boots and snow. Considering you’ll find the place in Siberia, just a few hundred miles from the Arctic Circle, that makes sense.

Despite the suspicion you’d never leave the house and you’d do all your shopping online, Kian reckons that’s bulls**t. “When you know how to keep warm, you can start experiencing life, and the first place you’ll want to visit is the coldest open-air market on Earth.” As you can see, the place is basically a big freezer, but that’s okay because it keeps the food fresh.

From there, Kian moves onto the important stuff: entertainment. “People have many outdoor hobbies,” she reckons. Ice-fishing and ice-swimming are particularly popular. To prove it, there’s even footage of a bloke stripping to his dick-togs and going for a dip.

Obviously, Kian talks about heaps more, but you really wanna listen to her and not us. Give the video down below a bit of a squiz.

Final thought: Yeah, nah this is definitely a unique way to live. We dunno if we could do it, especially considering how used to the warm weather we are, but we understand that when you don’t know any different, this s**t would seem pretty normal to the locals. Still, let us know what you reckon.
