People are bloody loving Dr Phil trying to understand Internet slang on Twitter

Bloody language is a hell of a thing. Take ours here in Ozzyland for example. The internet loves to tell us we talk funny, but that’s not real fair at all. Not when you consider the strange and wonderful dialects different subcultures, fads and cliques develop online. Don’t take our word for it, though. Even Dr Phil is looking at internet lingo and scratching his head. As a result, he’s posted a video on Twitter where he asks his followers to explain some internet terms to him. Naturally, people are bloody loving it…

Rightio, you know who Dr Phil is, so don’t pretend you don’t. The old legend’s a bloody television stalwart who’s been ever-present for the last twenty-odd years. Unfortunately, with so much new language developing online, old mate can’t keep up and a few terms have got him as confused as old buggery.

“Now, I’ve been seeing some words in my comments that I need to ask you all about, so, um, like VSCO girlI don’t know if that’s like V.S.C.O girl or visco girl – or SKSKSKSKSKSK? I’ve no idea what the hell that is. And then there’s one that says ‘And I OOP.’ I got a feeling that somehow or another this is way inappropriate, so you’re probably getting a really big hoot out of this…so…let me know.”

As you can imagine, the Tweet went viral real quick. At the current state of play, it’s racked up some 79,000 shares, and people are bloody loving it!

Of course, one of the common touch-points that pretty much everyone can share with this is that Phil looks like everyone’s bloody Dad as he tries to understand exactly what’s going on. Still, amongst all the banter, he does get his answers.

Naturally, someone has to point out that it seems like Dr Phil has got a dirty mind.

Final thought: Look, we’ll fess up. These phrases are pretty bloody new to us, so we’re kinda stoked that the good Dr has sought the answers we require. Now, in true Dr Phil fashion, we reckon it’s time everyone hits up the comments section and asks for more definitions to internet lingo they don’t understand. You know what to do!
