Sansa Stark spits Eminem lyrics like fire

We all know that Game of Thrones is all about the surprises. From wicked plot twists to the deaths of your favourite characters, it’s a show that beats you right in the face with the unexpected. It stands to reason then that the actors who’ve made the show what it is are also capable of surprising the f**k out of you. Cue Sophie Turner burning her way through Eminem lyrics on the Late Late Show with James Corden.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, and Jean Grey in the most recent X-Men movies, is by all accounts quite the fan of Eminem. And while plenty of people might say their favourite song is The Real Slim Shady, she can back it up by spitting the lyrics ‘like fire’. And no, we’re not talking about just some of the lyrics, we’re talking the whole bloody thing.

While chilling out on James Corden’s couch with Nirvana and Foo-Fighters legend, Dave Grohl, she was talking about her love of Eminem when Corden challenged her to prove it. Prove it she did. With a little help from Corden providing the melody, she didn’t just defy expectations, she smashed the piss out of them.

You’ll see it all in the video below, so I’m not going to give you the lyrics, but suffice it to say that Sophie begins in fairly typical fashion. Most people can get out the opening lyrics of their favourite tracks, and she does that with consummate ease. When the rhymes start to speed up, so does Turner.

Bouncing up and down, she rifles off the lyrics like a proper fan. In no time at all, she’s on her feet. She sprays the audience with line after line of the Slim Shady favourite. She only stops when she realises she can’t f**ken swear on television. By the time she gets to that point, everyone from Grohl to the audience are cheering and applauding her efforts like they’ve just seen the real thing.

Final thought: Bloody hell, Sophie. That’s a top job. I’ve got mates who claim to be Eminem fans when they can’t even bust out the chorus to Lose Yourself. You abso-f**ken-lutely destroyed that shit. Good stuff.
