Bam’s suing Johnny Knoxville, Paramount, and MTV over his “Jackass” firing

When you think about Jackass, there’s a pretty good chance you consider Bam Margera as a part of the whole crew. And there’s good reason for that: he’s one of the notorious stunt-crew’s founding fathers and he’s pretty much always been there. Of course, things changed recently when he was given the arse by Paramount during the making of the fourth movie. As you can probably expect, Bam hasn’t taken it well, and it now looks like things are going to the courts.

Basically, Bam’s seeking bloody millions in compensation from Knoxville, Paramount, and MTV. In a document filed an LA Court the other day, the long-time Jackass star claims, “inhumane, abusive and discriminatory treatment.” He also claims he was wrongfully terminated from a franchise he created.

So yeah, it looks like it’s becoming a bit of a s**tfight, and a lot of that’s down to the fact he was given the sack over what he’s called ‘Draconian’ conditions.

According to Deadline, “Paramount signed Margera for a fourth Jackass film, now titled Jackass Forever. They conditioned Margera’s participation and compensation on his adherence to a ‘Wellness Agreement’ that obligated him to complete multiple daily drug tests. The suit claims that ‘while Margera was in a rehabilitation facility in 2019, Spike Jonze (his producer) and Knoxville (his co-star), accosted him and coerced him into signing the draconian agreement.’”

As you can imagine, when he was given the flick, Paramount claimed he’d violated the agreement. Of course, he’d already started filming and some of those scenes are in the movie, but Margera isn’t happy.

He says, “I am pissed-off, angry, hurt, and shattered that Johnny, Jeff, Spike and the studios and producers ripped off my creativity, content and stunts to make this movie, fired me without justification and refuse to pay for my work. I created this franchise before any of these guys ever got involved.”

Watch this space. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Final thought: Yeah, this sucks. It’s never good to see arguing between long-time friends. We don’t know how it’ll play out, but we reckon it’d be great to see it all work out amicably. Let us know what you reckon in the comments section. See you there, you legends!
