Artist is selling ‘Karen’ Halloween masks, calling them ‘the real monsters of 2020’

Bloody Halloween! We know that some people here in Straya whinge about it, but we reckon it’s pretty bloody tricky not to get excited about an annual event that celebrates ghosts, monsters, and all that’s supposed to be scary. Of course, what’s seen as scary changes over time, and in 2020, there’s very little that’s scarier than the prospect of an angry Karen! That’s why we love these masks. Check ‘em out…

Yeah, nah, while we all know that the supernatural is where things started for Halloween, it’s gone way past that now. Costumes can be anything, and with Karens constantly leaving the fringes of popular culture to become the kind of thing that’s always in your face, we reckon this is a bloody grouse idea.

And we s**t you not, these masks are bloody terrifying. They’re made by Instagram user and artist for hire, Jason Adcock. In an Insta post about the products, he says, “I have taste, but I never said it was good taste … our newest action is KAREN-19. She thought she was slick calling you all sheep and look what happened!”

Still, we reckon his copy in another Insta post is even better. “It’s never too early to shop for Halloween,” he writes. “2020 is the year of the KAREN! Scare all ur friends with ur big hair and narrow mind!”

Adcock told Business Insider he designed the masks because they were so timely. “I was starting on this year’s Halloween projects and kept seeing “Karens” pop up in my news feed and thought, ‘Damn this is the real monster of 2020.’”

Well, he’s not wrong. If you want one, send him a message. He’ll hook you up.

Final thought: Yeah, nah, as you know, some people have a bloody whinge about kids having a good time on Halloween here in Oz, but we reckon that’s crazy. It’s a good bloody laugh, and it’s a great way to celebrate all the werewolves, vampires, and Karens that pop culture has to offer.
