Russian Prankster hangs a portrait of Putin up in elevator to see the reactions

Here in Ozzyland, we’re pretty f**ken ambivalent about our politicians. No matter which side of the political divide we fall on, we reckon that pretty much all of us reckon the blokes and sheilas in Canberra are a bunch of bloody drongos. With that in mind, we sometimes forget that people in other countries might think like us too. So when a Russian prankster stuck a portrait of Putin up in an elevator and recorded the results, you have to say the reactions are pretty f**ken similar to what ours might be…

Before we kick on with this one, we’ll ask you just what you might think, say, or do if you got in an elevator and saw a big bloody painting of Scomo there. Strangely, though, we seem to think of all Russia being completely enamoured with Putin. Well, it turns out that’s not quite the case.

The bloke who put this one up wanted to surprise the other residents in his block of flats, and capture their reactions. To do that, he attached a big bloody portrait of Putin to the inside of an elevator, and recorded the results through a remote camera.

Watching the video, you’ll see that for all their crazy knife-fights, hectic roads, and awesome YouTube content, the Russians are about as interested as we are in worshipping their leader. Yeah, nah, the responses ran the gamut of ‘WTF-ness’.

Some questioned just who the f**k would put it there. Some made jokes about the big Putin painting being used to capture their behaviour, and others just shook their heads and treated the whole idea as f**ken bullshit.

In fairness, that’s a far cry from the kind of thing we’re told about the Ruskies. Makes you wonder what else we’ve been led to believe about Russia mightn’t be true, doesn’t it?

Final thought: Seriously, just let us know how you’d feel if you got into you work escalator and saw a picture of your President or Prime Minister. We want to know.
