Bloke makes miniature hats for a toad who visits his porch on a daily basis

Here in Ozzyland, we’ve got a funny relationship with toads. We know we’re not like everywhere, but the cane toads some dumbass imported from the states back when everything was black and white have become a bloody nightmare for our native wildlife. As a result, we usually welcome the pricks by taking them golfing. However, we acknowledge that other places like their toads. We assume that Chris Newsome, a dude who made a s**tload of hats and accoutrements for the toad that visits his porch comes from one of those places.

Shortly after the son of one of Chris’s mates lost his frog, Chris decided he could pimp out the toad that visits his porch on a nightly basis. What that means is that bloody Chris isn’t just a creative dude, he’s also a bloody good bloke, and that’s gotta be celebrated.

We’ll let him explain the ins and outs for you, though. “The toad that hangs out on my porch needed a hat. I decided to enter the world of toad millinery and help the little guy out. Foam paper seemed like a toad friendly material. …To explain how this started… I had made the pics for a friend’s little boy that lost his frog. I sent the hats to him afterwards.”

As you can see from the photos, there’s a range of dapper-as-f**k hats for this little amphibian. Some, understandably, are more stylish than others, but no matter your personal tastes, you’ve got to admit that considering these hats are made out of foam paper – and the toad has to hold still while Newsome fits them – he’s done a bloody bang-up-job!

Personally, our favourite has to be the monocle. What a bloody stellar touch, that is. Of course, someone needs to tell Chris that the little fella needs a crown. That way, he might pull some desperate sheilas. Just beware, ladies, he might have warts.

Final thought: As we always say, you’ve got to love a bit of irreverent creativity. Deadset, this is our favourite amphibian-based post this week. Good s**t, Chris. You’re clearly a top bloke and a fully sick toad milliner.
