Legend of a pit bull saves baby from house-fire, carries her by nappy

Of all the awesome doggos that cop an unfair flogging in the media, you have to say that bloody pit bulls are right up there. Depending on whom you ask, these canines are responsible for everything from the disappearance of the dinosaurs to the sinking of the Titanic. Deadset, they’re just that bad. They’ll eat your spleen, spit on your granny’s grave and drink your last beer. And that, my friends, is because they’re evil. Except, yeah, nah, they’re not really. Check this out.

Fair dinkum, judging a dog by its breed is even dumber than judging a book by its cover.

Everyone knows that some books have dodgy covers because they’re just dodgy.

Dogs, though, like people, aren’t born bad. They have to be raised and trained – and pit bulls are no different to other dogs. If that’s not done properly, they’ll play up.

But that’s not what this story’s about, so why are we harping on about it? Because anyone who thinks pit bulls are automatically bad can go and get nicked, that’s why. Pit bulls are people too, ya legends. And Sasha, the 8-month-old pitty is up there with the best of them.

Just before midnight on June 3, she bloody well saved a baby’s life. When was the last time you did that? Yeah, that’s right; not since at least a couple of months ago. Sasha wins. She is awesome. Anyway, here’s the story…

When Sasha noticed something had gone awry in baby Masailah’s house, she didn’t waste any time. According to Fox 40, she alerted the sleeping family to danger by barking and banging on the door of their Stockton rental.

Nana Chaichanhda opened the door to see why the dog was yelping and behaving strangely. Before she even realized her cousin’s building in her fourplex was on fire, Sasha barged through the door and ran into 7-month-old Masailah’s room. – The New York Post

Chaichanhda was, obviously, bloody stoked. “She had already had my baby by the diaper and was dragging her off the bed. I owe her everything. If it wasn’t for her, I would have still been in bed and things could have taken a worse turn.”

Final thought: Let’s just make this clear one last time. Sasha is a pit bull and she’s awesome. Deadset, she’s absolutely in love with her best mate, Masailah and she’s a stand-up member of the pit bull community, so next time some shmuck tells you pit bulls are dangerous dogs, point ‘em in Sasha’s direction and tell ‘em to suck a fat one.
