IT professionals share their daily torment through memes

While there’s no doubt we’ve all filled in our resume by claiming that we have extensive IT knowledge, we’d probably all be screwed without IT support. Deadset, those bloody legends are the heroes of any busy workplace, and even if you are one of the few who knows their way around a keyboard, you’re probably still glad IT is there to make sure everyone else asks them how to fix their problems, leaving you free to do your job.

Yeah, nah, it’s a simple fact of life that the IT team are the unsung legends of any workplace. They keep s**t running smoothly, they tolerate all sorts of nonsense, and if you look after them, they’ll always have your back.

That’s why we reckon they can be forgiven for needing a place to vent about all the luddites they have to work with. After all, it must be frustrating as f**k to deal with all the workplace Karens who need their problem fixed NOW.

Fortunately, they have that venting place. Reddit’s r/iiiiiiitttttttttttt subreddit is the place they go to upload a whole range of screenshots, memes, comics, or old-fashioned whinging about the problems they deal with on a daily basis.

It’s not small either. Yeah, nah, the subreddit has almost 200,000 members and has been going since 2012. Perhaps fittingly, though, it’s best summed up by its opening page:

“Tired of stupid customers? Having to deal with constant computer frustrations at work? Another virus ruining a perfect day? Having to fix incredibly-crafted spaghetti code in Visual Basic? Your database system was destroyed by an idiot coworker turning off the computer? Vent out here at iiiiiiitttttttttttt (i7t12), a subreddit dedicated specifically for Information Technology rage comics! (Limit two le’s per customer).”

The IT department. You’ve gotta love ‘em.

Final thought: Take our word for it, you want the IT team to be your friends. If you’ve got a mate who works in IT, give them a shout-out in the comments section. If you haven’t spoiled your workplace IT team lately, buy ‘em some bloody Tim-Tams and give ‘em a high five. Yeah, nah, those legends are the top blokes and sheilas of any workplace.
