German circus uses holograms instead of live animals to combat animal cruelty
You know, we’ve gotta be straight up with you on this one, but when we were younger, we bloody loved going to the circus and seeing the clowns, the trapeze and the animals. Of course, circuses have come in for a bit of stick about transporting and keeping exotic animals in recent years, and that’s led to conflicted hearts. Getting rid of the buggers spoils some of the magic while keeping them just isn’t really the way to go in this day and age…
And you know what, we understand that while some circuses were rightfully accused of treating their animals like s**t and really shouldn’t be allowed to keep them, some of the best circuses really did treat their animals like pets and loved them accordingly. But, the catch is that you really can’t argue elephants – which are meant to bloody roam – should be kept on trucks and tied up in pens for most of their lives.
Still, a German Circus, Circus Roncalli, has solved an age-old problem in a cool-as-f**k modern way. They’ve replaced all their animals with holograms. It’s a f**ken legendary move that takes a stand against those dodgy b**tards who are known for treating their animals like s**t.
The result is f**ken spectacular. Elephants and horses cavort while giant goldfish swim around like, well, giant bloody goldfish. If you’re wondering how the clever b**tards made it happen and need to know the technical specs, then f**ken read on, because Birger Wunderlich, one of the blokes from Bluebox – who helped make it all happen – said:
“We have been using Optoma projectors for 6 years and have consistently had a very positive experience in price, performance, and reliability. We needed a high contrast projector with great colors for the 3D effect and the ZU850’s 2,000,000:1 contrast is perfect for this project.”
With governments around the world looking at banning circuses from travelling with animals, this really might be the way of the future.
Final thought: We’ve gotta say, we f**ken love this, and when you consider the other cool s**t circuses could do with holograms, they might be about to get pretty f**ken interesting again. Imagine a bloody dragon swooping around the ring. Or a bigfoot. Or a f**ken behemoth! Bring that s**t on!
