Devoted son climbs hospital drainpipe to sit by dying mother with Covid

If we can be serious for a moment, despite all the bulls**t going on around the world that seems to politicise Covid-19, it’s got a very real and a very tragic face that is seeing people lose their loved ones. That, more than anything else is why we need to be vigilant and make sure we’re doing everything we can to protect others. And, yeah, while it’s not too bad in Ozzyland right now, this s**t is killing people of every creed, colour and culture…

Before we go on, make sure you’ve got your bloody snot-rag handy.

You might well be shedding a tear – or at least having a bit of a sniff – by the end of this one.

With that in mind, meet f**ken Jihad Al-Suwaiti. This bloody legend is the youngest son of Rasma Salema. Considering she was suffering from Leukaemia when she was diagnosed with Coronavirus, it’s no surprise he knew she probably wasn’t going to be around much longer.

Unfortunately, the necessarily strict protocols in hospital meant he couldn’t be there with her in the ward. That wasn’t gonna stopping him giving her his full support and making sure she knew he was around, though.

Yeah, nah, she had a window room near an external drainpipe. Jihad went full f**ken Itsy Bitsy and scaled that b**tard so that he could sit on the window-ledge and be there with her.

A hospital official said, “He spent most of his day there, observing his mother’s condition from outside the window, before coming down when he was convinced that his mother was fast asleep.”

As you might expect, Rasma didn’t make it, and when Jihad found out that she was gone, he was, according to his brother, pretty f**ken upset. Naturally.

Final thought: Despite the tragedy in this one, think about how good that would have been for Rasma to know that her son was dedicated to making sure she wasn’t alone on her deathbed. The legend’s done good. His mum would have known for sure that she was loved. Still, we’ve gotta hope it doesn’t come to this for anyone here. Be sensible, ya big bewdiful b**tards; if you’ve got a sniffle, stay home. Wear a mask when you’re supposed to and protect the vulnerable ones among us. It’s what a top bloke would do.
