Police release amazing ‘Uptown Funk’ lip sync video

The old lip-sync challenge has become a bit of a popular item on the internet these days and there seem to be some pretty killer challenges going on. While many have aspired to stake a claim as the reigning champions of the field, there aren’t many quite as impressive as this bad boy from the Norfolk Police Department’s Uptown Funk.

Righto, blokes and blokettes, let’s kick things off with a little context. It seems that the police department featured in the vid, the Norfolk Police Department in Virginia, were encouraged to make the vid when another copshop in the States, the Corinth Police Department in Texas, threw down the gauntlet.

And while I could probably give you a quote here, it’s easier just to assume they said something like, “You reckon you’re pretty good do ya, ya wankers? How about you f**ken lip-sync battle us and we’ll see how good you really are?”

Norfolk PD, obviously said, “You’re f**ken on, c**ts.”

And damn, they went all out. In an attempt that was apparently filmed in one take, they’ve got everyone in on the action. Seriously, the bloody crims in town must have had a field day, because these awesome cops have gone all out.

There’s a horn section playing witches hats (or road-cones if you’re a bloody kiwi), motorcycles, fire-fighters, and the entire bureaucratic wing of the office getting down to Bruno Mars’ catchy-as-f**k tune.

Even the Corinth PD were impressed. They may have had their doubts when Norfolk PD announced they’d accepted the challenge, but the Virginians f**ken nailed it.

Of course, the grouse video has gone viral, and it’s copping some sweet sweet love from all over the net. Have a look at this comment that we just have to share with you:

“Whoa whoa whoa people…..! What about the safety of the citizens of Norfolk? Who’s going to protect them? Their entire police force is about to be arrested for murder……Because they just killed it!”

Final thought:  Bloody encore! Encore! This seems like the sort of challenge that could see loads of copshops and emergency service officers stepping up to the plate. What a way to show people that being a cop is about more than just beating up bad guys and eating donuts. Good work, ya legends.
