Sheila converts 110-year-old dead tree into a free little library for the neighborhood

Even today, in an age of Kindles, audiobooks and electronic everything, we still f**ken love books here at Ozzy Man Reviews. Sh*t, our fearless leader even released one himself last year. You should totally buy a copy. Anyway, it seems that loads of people still love f**ken books, because little free libraries are totally a thing. And, er, yeah, we think we might have the coolest one of them all right here for you. Let’s check out just how Sharalee Armitage Howard made it happen…

Sharalee seems like a bit of a bloody legend and a legendarily artsy fartsy type with a proper community focus. Deadset, when she realised that the stump of a 110-year-old cottonwood tree being turned into woodchips and sending it to Destination F**ked would be a bit bloody tragic, the Idaho native decided to transform into the coolest little library around.

Have a f**ken squiz at this bewdy. She whacked a few bloody shelves in there, threw up some lighting, affixed a fancy-pants front door – with windows – and even gave it a little roof. She even had some awesomely carved classic books like The Hobbit, Little Women, and The Call of the Wild fixed across the top. The result is f**ken bonza.

With all that done, she stuck on the Little Free Library badge and she’s now a chartered member of the organisation, which means the library will turn up on the national map in no time (if it hasn’t already). In a Facebook post, she said, “We had to remove a huge tree that was over 110 years old, so I decided to turn it into a little free library (which I’ve always wanted).”

Sharalee reckons projects like this one make the world a cooler place. We’re inclined to agree. This thing is bloody grouse, and we want one!

Final thought: As mentioned above, books are rad. I don’t know about you, but I’ll look for any excuse to get free books and these little free libraries are bloody awesome. Let us know what you would put in yours.

PS. As well as Ozzy’s book, the author of this article has a story in Dark Moon Digest 32/33, which also features work by Josh Malerman (author of Bird Box) and tonnes of other great authors. You should check it out. It’s got crocodiles.
