Russian Gang In Street Brawl With Professional Boxer

It’s never a good idea to start a fight with a total stranger; besides the fact that it makes you a dickhead, you never know how much of a shit kicker they guy you’re fighting will turn out to be.

The dudes in this video learned that lesson the hard way when they took on professional boxer Nicolai Vlasenko outside a bar in Starokorsunskaya, southwest Russia.

Vlasenko was having a quiet drink with his wife at the time but after returning from the toilet, he was confronted with a bunch of thugs from a local gang who were harassing her.

He asked them to leave his wife alone but the group’s leader, Leonti Yevdokimov, 33, responded by telling the fighter to step outside. Vlasenko obliged.

Eldar Vinogradoff, who witnessed the whole scene unfold, gave his version of events: “When they went outside, the others were there mob-handed. There were at least 10 of them led by the two who thought they were real big shots.

“One of them took off his shirt and started squaring up to the boxer, and I don’t think he even knew what hit him when he went down like a nine-pin. A second man tried to kick the boxer and he was floored instantly as well.”

“Then a third man joined in, and he was left staggering and on the point of collapsing after taking three blows to the head and not landing once himself.”

After reviewing CCTV footage that showed Vlasenko clearly defending himself, local police issued a statement saying that they would be taking no further action.

In the aftermath, Vlasenko’s lawyer stated: “My client wasn’t prepared to allow them to harass his wife. He was prepared to discuss it in a reasonable manner, but when they resorted to force than he was forced to defend himself with inevitable consequences.”

So yeah, besides it being a scummy thing to do, fighting random dudes outside of bars can also have the consequence of making you internet-famous for all the wrong reasons. Better to just down another pint and have a game of pool, I reckon!
