Meet Tim, the Cowboy Museum’s wholesome security guard – and Twitter manager!

Yeah, nah, there’s no doubt that the next few months are probably gonna be the making of a few new online personalities. After all, if there’s one thing blokes and blokettes in quarantine are gonna be fanging for, it’s good internet content. So when Oklahoma’s National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum had to go into lockdown, they did the smart thing, they appointed someone charming as f**k to manage their Twitter account. Deadset, it doesn’t even matter that Tim’s only starting to get the gist of things online, he’s clearly a top bloke – and that counts for something!

Rightio, if you’re not exactly sure what the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is and can’t be arsed googling that s**t, don’t worry. We’ve got the basics straight from the organisation’s website:

“With the exception of Thunder, Oklahoma’s known for, above all else, its rich Wild Western history. This incredible history is preserved for all to see in OKC’s National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.”

Of course, just like much of the US, these poor b**tards have had to go into lockdown. In a move that’s either a genius bit of marketing or a happy accident, they’ve asked Tim Send to take the reins on their Twitter page.

Now, we don’t know if this is the real deal or whether Tim’s just a character, but the narrative suggests that bloody Tim is the regular security guard, and he’s killing two birds with one stone while the museum’s staff are at home, hiding from Covid-19.

As Tim said in his introductory tweet, “Hello, my name is Tim and I am the head of security for The Cowboy. I have been asked to take on the additional duty of social media management while the museum is closed. I’m new to this but excited. My team will continue to protect and monitor the museum. Thanks, Tim Send.”

As you can see, he’s a wholesome fella, and people are loving his Tweets.

Final thought: You know, there’s lots to say about social media, and every business owner will tell you they’re a bloody expert, even if they’re not. This move here, though, it’s a bloody good one. A personable and conscientious bloke everyone likes? That’s exactly what’s at the heart of good social media. Well done, Tim. You’re doing a great job!
