Pakistani Government accidentally turn on cat filter during Facebook live, Internet responds

It’s probably safe to say that plenty of you blokes and blokettes have had that awkward moment when you’ve opened the camera app on your phone and been confronted by a big ugly face – replete with cat ears and whiskers – because you left selfie mode on. Fortunately, that sort of thing doesn’t happen in professional circles. Well, except for when it does. Like that time Pakistani Government officials live-streamed their press conference with the cat filter on. No selfies, but plenty of hilarity in this one.

Yeah, nah, it’s obvious that the fore-mentioned Pakistani officials were feline fine the other day.

Fair dinkum, things were purring at a press conference where several otherwise grim and serious-looking blokes were broadcast live with comically cute cat ears and whiskers on their faces.

Fortunately, this wasn’t a planned event these guys had set up to generate interest. Yeah, nah, it was a genuine balls-up, and that makes it even funnier. These dudes had no idea what was happening, so while they were carrying on about their boring government stuff, people were logging on to see them make tools of themselves.

As they streamed, viewers added comments to the broadcast, and although the video has since been deleted, the incident lives on in the cavalcade of screenshots that have made it online. The footage was so well received by everyone except the officials that they released a separate presser explaining what happened.

Apparently, one of their volunteers started streaming without checking whether or not the filter was on. We’re not sure whether we buy that or not, but whatever, we’ll call it an ‘accident’. You know what, though? We hope that whoever was responsible didn’t get in too much trouble.

They said:

“PTSI SM Disciplinary Committee probed the incident firsthand and concluded the incident was a ‘human error’ by one of our hard-working volunteers. All necessary actions have been taken to avoid such incidents in the future…”

The Internet of course had a few chuckles over it all:

Final thought: You know what? We like this. Matter of fact, we’d love to see the same sort of thing done to our pollies over here. If you’ve got the skills to Photoshop it up, whack some good pics of Scomo and the bois into the Facebook comments. Till then, ooroo, ya legends.
