Nic Cage’s AMA was the Internet’s peak wholesome moment!
Now, we realise this might be a slightly controversial statement, but when it comes to movies and the iconic actors of our generation, you’ve gotta put Nic Cage in the conversation. Deadset, a hill this writer is prepared to die on is that you realise Cage is amazing or you’re wrong. Yeah, nah, we’re standing by it. Anyway, the man recently participated in a Reddit AMA and it was probably one of the most wholesome AMAs the internet has witnessed…
All right, so obviously, Cage’s career is storied and continually evolving. That’s okay. That’s good. Whether you’re talking blockbuster smash hit 90s Cage, bankrupt and troubled Cage, or the more recent indie and horror icon Cage, the man’s got range that’s truly incredible.

As a result of all of that, he’s an actor who has maintained an awesome following and who has been the subject of many internet debates, memes, and tributes. So when he took to Reddit for an AMA in support of his new film, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, people knew it was going to be big. What they mightn’t have suspected however was that it would have more replies than Obama’s.
Anyway, Cage, who’s a nephew of Francis Ford Coppola, has appeared in some truly huge films and some obscure indies. To put it mildly, he’s nothing short of prolific. At the same time, though, he’s often shown himself to be thoughtful and honest in his replies.
That’s not to say he hasn’t been a bit of a rogue at times, but maybe now that he’s approaching sixty and has led such an interesting life, he’s able to be a bit more reflective and appreciative of the things he’s done.
If that’s the case, his AMA certainly shows that. Yeah, nah, his responses went viral on Twitter even while he was responding, and he managed to have fun with some of his responses while also giving considerate answers to real questions.
Check it out. You’ll see why his fans loved it so much.
As a cheeky bonus, if you’re a fan of Cage – and the movie Pig in particular – you might like to check out a podcast the writer of this particular piece appeared on, The Necronomi.com. It’s an analysis show that goes in depth on the film. If that’s your thing, the link is below.
