Footage of Japanese chef reveals what the inside of a giant squid looks like

We’ve talked about octopuses a few times here on Ozzy Man Reviews, but we’ve never really given much love to their cousins, the squid. And that’s not really fair. We f**ken love calamari, and when we recently came across a video of a Japanese bloke cutting a squid up so we could see it’s cross section, we thought, f**k yeah, you c**ts will love it. So, without further ado, check this s**t out…

So, er, yeah, while we first came across this video on the bloody awesome Twitter account, Nature is Scary, we’ve also discovered that the snippet you see in their post comes from the YouTube account of a Japanese fella named Kaneko.

This dude is, apparently, a kickass Japanese seafood chef, and he makes videos where he shows you how to fillet some of their awesome seafood. The plus side of that is that you kinda get cross sections of some animals.

The squid he’s slicing and dicing on this particular video is a Diamond Squid weighing 11 bloody kilos. If you don’t have the metric system and want to know what the f**k that means, you can google it right here.

Anyway, old mate Kaneko sets to work, and once he’s past the thick as f**k layers of meat around that tasty b**tard he gets into the Lovecraftian goodness of its insides. Have a f**ken squiz at it. He pulls out some weird s**t we don’t eat, and then he gets to the brains of the operation.

You can watch most of this s**t for yourself, but once he goes digging, he pulls out its eye. That thing is f**ken humongous. It’s like the eye of Sauron. He gives it a poke and a jiggle before telling us we can’t eat ‘em.

From there, it’s down to the beak. He digs that f**ker out and points out that it’s a delicacy. Now you know, you can make sure you tell your local chippy that they need to get some bloody squid beaks into their fisherman’s baskets.

Final thought: You know, sometimes it’s the rabbit holes of the internet that lead you to some real gold. When we first saw the little snippet on Twitter, we thought it was like some sort of alien autopsy s**t, but after clicking the links, we now know that giant squid is pretty f**ken tasty. Good s**t, Kaneko. Good shit.
