Catcher has emergency surgery after 160kmph baseball hits him in the nuts
Man, this video is gonna have dudes everywhere groaning in sympathy. St Louis Cardinals’ catcher, Yadier Molina, is likely to miss a month of action thanks to the brutal accident leaving him with the worst case of blue balls he’s ever likely to experience.
Ooh, this is a bad one. Blokes – and probably blokettes – everywhere will wince when they watch it. Some might laugh, and that’s OK as long as it’s nervous laughter and not the sadistic kind. That’s fairly normal when the cock-shot (even when the term is used loosely) is in play.
Let’s start with a breakdown of the incident: The pitch comes in and it’s f**ken fast. We’re talking 102mph. In English, that’s over 160 clicks. That’s faster than me mate Bazza’s sh*tbox Ford.
The batsman gets the tip (just the tip, mind) of his bat to the ball. It’s not a clean connection – yet – but it’s enough to deflect it straight towards Molina’s ballinas. He f**ken cops it sweet in the nuts. Cops it sweet in the ghoulies. Sweet in the bollocks.
Look at that slo-mo gif. Through his tight pants, you can see his norries split like ten-pins at the bowling alley. The baseball connects and his cojones go flying.
Even writing this, I’m grimacing. My legs are squeezing together in instinctive defence of my own nuts. I watch that gif through clenched teeth. I’m pretty sure everyone does.
Cardinals’ coach Mike Matheny said, ‘That was a bad one, and those ones don’t necessarily feel better (the next day). ‘It was hard to see.’
‘He just couldn’t go anywhere. There was nowhere to go. He was trying to get the ability to breathe back,’ the manager said. ‘No further explanation for that one.’
Final thought: Mate, talk about taking one for the team. That’s got to be the most painful nutshot I’ve ever seen – and I’ve watched some pretty f**ked up Japanese game-show videos on YouTube. I’m pretty sure everyone’s with me when I wish Yadier Molina and his suffering testicles all the best. We hope the surgery works a treat. Get well soon, mate!
