Illustrator hilariously imagines how Godzilla was able to stand in the ocean
Here in Ozzyland, we’re pretty proud that some blokes – and even a few sheilas – reckon we’re the official land of the reptile. And, yeah, while we reckon we may have some competition, we’re happy to claim it. But, and this is a pretty big but, even we have to admit that Godzilla puts our biggest reptiles – the saltwater croc, the scrub python and Tony Abbott – to shame. Despite all that, though, some people are wondering how come the big fella can walk on water. After all, he’s not exactly a Jesus lizard.
Yeah, deadset, just like you blokes, we reckon Jesus lizards are pretty f**ken cool.
S**t, we remember the band fondly too. Those f**kers knew how to riff it up. Anyway, getting back to Godzilla, some people have looked at the poster and asked a critical question…
Yeah, nah, they’ve used the submarine to give them some scale and worked out how tall the King of the Monsters is. That’s all well and good, but it’s led to some of the more literal folks out there saying, “Well hang the f**k on. If the water’s deep enough for a submarine, how is the big fella standing?”
Fortunately, Twitter user Ernest Ng, has come to the rescue with a bunch of possible options to try and settle the debate. With some simple illustrations, he’s made these options clear as f**ken mud, and anyone who wants to challenge Godzilla’s capacity to ascend from beneath the waves only needs to look at these to set their mind at ease.
Personally, we like to reckon he’s got a bit of the Jesus lizard about him, but we’re not ruling out the potential of the forklift either.
Final thought: No matter how he gets there, we also reckon it’s pretty f**ken rad that he’s finally punching on with other monsters in a big Hollywood Godzilla movie. That s**t is awesome. Anyway, let us know which of these solutions you like the best – or put forward one of your own.
