BJ Novak accidentally had his image stolen and is now on products all around the world
The ownership of intellectual property and images can be a pretty f**ken tricky thing in this day and age. And, fair dinkum, you can take our bloody word for it. That’s why we always try to give credit where we can. Unfortunately, sometimes, you might find that just by having your image uploaded to a public domain site, it becomes EVERYONE’S property. Deadset, just ask BJ Novak, one of the stars of The Office.
In a recent Insta story, B.J. Novak, the star of bloody heaps of movies, and one of the writers, executive producers, and directors of The Office has revealed just how and why he’s become a precious commodity and unofficial spokesperson for bloody s**tloads of products.

Yeah, nah, you can go all over the world and find his image adorning random s**t. No joke, he’s the face of colognes in Sweden, face paint in Uruguay, and tonnes of other products.

Apparently, though, he sees the funny side, and why wouldn’t he? We mean, sure, he probably could have been making money from all this advertising – especially if there were any quotes or if he was identified – but he doesn’t seem that bothered.

He’s explained that, “Years ago, someone mistakenly put an image of me on a public domain site, and now apparently I am on products all around the world, but I am too amused to do anything about it.”

Fortunately, he finds it all pretty amusing, and we have to admit that we would too. After all, imagine heading into the store while you’re on holiday and finding your own image on a product. Deadset, that’s the kind of fame some of us can only dream of!
