Simpsons-inspired rock and metal covers are brilliant!

As you know, we bloody love the internet. It’s deadset chock-a-block with weird creativity, clever ideas and shmick little pop-culture mash-ups. With that in mind, we had to share these bloody mintox Simpsons-inspired rock and metal covers with you. As we’ve said in the past, heavy music isn’t for everyone, but its fans love it to bits. Having said that, this Simpsons-style take on classic rock and metal album covers is well worth checking out.

Of course, if you do like your music full of guitars and loud drums, then you’ll get twice the bang for your buck from this. Keep in mind, though, we’re not gonna get everything in here – and some of the bands who’ve received the treatment on here are a bit obscure for the mainstream crowd.

To deal with that, unless it’s a fully-sick cover, we’re mostly going with the more well-known bands, but feel free to check out the Facebook page Springfield Albums.

Anyway, even if you’re not a fan of metal and rock music, you’ve gotta admit that those guys have it locked the f**k down when it comes to album covers and band logos. Deadset, there’s a reason hip-hop-heads and fashionistas have been wearing metal shirts and bastardizing the genre’s aesthetic over the last few years.

Still, we realise this might be the first time some of you have had a good look at some of the tasty artwork cooked up by the likes of Mike Whelan and Dan Seagrave. Be warned, though, finding yourself enamoured by a top quality metal album cover can lead to a lifelong love affair with the genre.

With that in mind, throw the horns of your four-fingered hand to the sky and bring the noise.

Final thought: Yeah, nah, what we love about this s**t is the way it combines two pretty awesome things. It’d be interesting to see this done with things like classic movie posters too. Anyway, let us know what you reckon in the comments section.
