Legend bloke teaches himself to backflip in 6 hours
Dedication. Determination. A growth mindset. All of these are needed to constantly improve, to make yourself the best you you can possibly be, to become the you you’ve always envisioned, to look back at your life when you’re old and grey and say, yeah, you know what, I f**ken achieved the sh*t I wanted to in my life. I am a winner. Of course, it’s not always easy and sometimes sh*t feels like it’s out of reach. Well, look no further for your daily inspiration.
F**k yes. The guy in this video can show us all a thing or two about what it means to persevere when you’d probably rather pack it in, eat some burger rings and just sit on the couch sniffing your own farts. He’s a can-do guy, and one day he wakes up, and he decides that he’s going to teach himself to backflip.
The bloke making the video, Justin, is one of the Bucket List Boys. They’re three blokes who set about ticking off the items on their bucket list, and Justin has always wanted to backflip despite the fact he’s been told he’s too tall.
Cue the video. Like any athletic or gymnastic skill, backflipping seems to me to be the kind of thing you really have to be prepared to land awkwardly at least once. And, you can see Justin wrestling with that. Eventually though, with the help of a mattress, some skyline vodka, and six hours of grit and mental fortitude, the bloody legend gets there. What a top bloke!
Final thought: What’s great about this is that you can look at it as a how to learn to backflip video or you can look at the backflip as a metaphor. What’s your own personal backflip? Is it the ability to paint, the ability to land that job, to achieve that dream? Whatever it is, take a page out of Justin’s book. Persevere, persevere, and persevere. Good sh*t!
