A Giant Creature Just Washed Up On The Shore Of Indonesia And People Are Freaking Out

The deep deep depths of the oceans are so scary because we really have no idea what is down there. When we get a peek of it (like when it washes ashore) then we freak the f*ck out – how can something like that be living on OUR planet? I mean look how big that thing is!

A huge, bloody corpse has washed up in Indonesia on Seram Island which was spotted by a few locals. At first they thought it was a boat because it’s so damn big. It’s 15 meters long, which is roughly 50 feet. I mean that’s a f*cking beast of a thing. Once they figured out it was an animal and not a boat, it was identified as a squid, a whale, or something else entirely.

However, some people were quick to suggest that it is definitely a baleen whale. Rob Deaville of the UK Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme with the Zoological Society of London said that from the images you can see “throat pleats, adjacent to what may be a pectoral fin.” Also, because squid are invertebrate and you can see what appear to be vertebrae, this is another sign that it’s a whale and not a squid.

Whatever it is, it’s going to smell horrible and it’s going to be studied until we find out exactly what it is. Let’s hope that the smell and amount of meat doesn’t attract other nearby predators…

Unknown things that lurk deep in the depths of the oceans are scary as f*ck. We know less about what’s at the bottom of our own oceans than the sky above us. That’s a scary thought, but easy enough to avoid both.
