Desperate dad extracts his own tooth with a pair of pliers

If you’ve ever experienced the pain of a properly f**ked tooth, you’ll know that there are times you’ll do just about anything to get rid of the agony. Unfortunately for Devon Dad, Billy Taylor, he had no access to the dentist. Yeah, nah, despite the fact his whole face was swelling up, the dentist told him to get nicked and to wait until the swelling was affecting his breathing before they’d fix his issue.

Naturally, this bulls**t left the poor bloke up s**t creek in a barbed-wire canoe.

Don’t let us try to convince you, though. He’s the bloke with the yarn to spin.

“I’ve had problems with that tooth for about two years. I’ve been to the dentist over it four times. They recapped it. I’ve had a root canal. I had toothache running up to the Bank Holiday weekend. It was getting worse and worse. The pain was excruciating.”

“Then, on the Tuesday after, my face was swelling and I had a migraine on that side. I think it was an abscess. I phoned a dentist but they weren’t very clear so I called 111. They said that I shouldn’t go in until it was restricting my breathing. It got really bad that night and the swelling was getting worse. I was pretty wound up.

“I thought: ‘Why don’t I just do it myself?’.”

And that led Billy to try a bit of the old liquid courage and to get his young fella to come and help him fix the offending tooth himself.

“I put the wire in the way that you floss. Once that was on it wasn’t coming off. Me and my lad ripped it out – it took about an hour. The process was bloody painful. It was hideous. But I’m into motocross – I can put up with a lot. I probably wouldn’t recommend it, unless you know what you are doing. You could crush the whole tooth.

“I said to Leo: ‘If I faint, you need to call 999’. He was like: ‘Oh my God, stop!’ But the swelling was obviously a serious infection which was spreading – it was puffing up.”

As you can see from the photos, he got the f**ken thing out, and he lived to tell the tale.

Final thought: Yeah, look, obviously there are some pretty extreme circumstances leading up to this one, but we’re not sure if he’s brave, stupid, or a bit of both. Let us know what you reckon in the comments section. Till next time, hooroo, ya big legends.
