This silverback gorilla and groundhog are best mates!

F**ken everybody needs a friend. Whether you just need someone to shoot the s**t with, someone to share your company, or someone to get up to crazy hijinks with, a friend is a f**ken must-have in today’s society. That’s why we love this video from Detroit Zoo. It shows Kongo the silverback gorilla giving a bit of love to his groundhog mate. Check it out…

All right, we’re gonna start with he obvious. This is bloody rad. Yeah, nah, one of the things that makes this so awesome is the stereotype of the gorilla. We always imagine they’re these powerhouse creatures (and they are), but we don’t often think of them as being so gentle and loving (although they clearly are).

This video puts the lie to that s**t in epic fashion. Kongo is giving the little critter a solid pat, and instead of running away as it would if some evil human was coming to try and pat it, the groundhog is like, “Yeah, this is Kongo. He’s pretty f**ken chill. He gives me good vibes and I like when he pats me like that.”

And seriously, have a look at how gentle Kongo is. There’s a little pat on the head, there’s a finger under the chin. He’s just like, “Groundhog, you are f**ken cute, and I think I wanna be friends.”

And you know what, we wouldn’t blame the groundhog for being a bit suss. If he was like, “Well, you say that, but I remember that viral video of a chimpanzee f**king a frog, and I don’t want your gorilla-dick anywhere near me – even if you are the smallest of the primates,” we wouldn’t blame him.

He doesn’t seem to be like that, though. Yeah, nah, he’s just like, “Yeah, f**ken pat me. It’s all right. There are chill-vibes here, so pat to your heart’s content.”

Yeah, nah, this is good.
