Airport Staff Punches EasyJet Passenger Holding Baby
If you’re lucky you’ve never been on the receiving end of a lengthy airport delay. They can be among the more frustrating things in life, with little information from the airline available and even less idea of when you will actually board the plane. Often you’re stuck in an airport terminal with little to do but wait it out when all you want to do is get home! It’s purgatory!
A prime example of these frustrations exhibited themselves at Nice Airport this week. Passenger tensions were high after some 13 hours of delays to board EasyJet flight EZY2122 to London. “This is a disgrace. We have children, babies, screaming, no nappies, no food,” screams a female would-be passenger. They are some pretty barbaric conditions to be waiting under.
The man she is directing her frustrations to is an airport employee given the sh*thouse task of manning the EasyJet counter during this delay. For those who have worked in customer service, you will know that people in these roles scarcely have enough information to hand out that will satisfy disgruntled passengers. They also have to bear the brunt of complaints and abuse – it can be pretty bloody demoralising!
The employee of Samsic (EasyJet’s outsourced airport staff in Nice) gives the passengers doughnuts, standing there with a static smile on his face as the passengers turn from complaining to berating. If there’s one way to passively antagonise people it’s by smiling at their woes!
That’s when it really kicks off. A member of the hoard who is holding a baby, whips out his phone and before he can take a photo, the Samsic employee slapped it out of his hands. The bloke with the baby then gives the employee a shove which results in a big left hook from the employee.
This has obviously gone a bit far and there is no excuse for any violence. Whilst EasyJet and Samsic will be the incident investigating further, no doubt this guy will be out of a job! Full video below.
