Bloke Uses Drone To Fly Himself Above A Busy Road, While Chilling in a Hammock
Since the first caveman probably sh*t his pants at the first pterodactyl, man has had an innate desire to fly. 1 in 5 people say the ability to fly is their superpower of choice and the rise of aviation has played a huge role in the globalisation of our planet.
Things started to get serious around 1900 when the Wright Brothers made the first successful flight in an aircraft that was heavier than air. Others had performed some successful gliding prior to this, but they were the ones to really crack the physics behind what makes aviation possible.
There were many others who attempted solo human flight. We found a corker of a video depicting some early cracks had by ambitious old fashioned blokes. Check out the bloke at 1:27 in the below clip. He’s got an ice cube’s chance in hell of getting off the ground!
These days we are blessed with a plethora of options when it comes to personalised ground transportation, but we still haven’t been able to crack affordable personal air travel. It’s scarcely worth firing up your private jet or chopper to nip down to the shops to pick up a sausage roll. Jet fuel is pretty pricey too.
But this legend has found a mode of personalised transport that could be a game-changer! Drones are getting pretty powerful these days, but not many have the power to carry a full-grown bloke. The video below shows a hammock strung below a drone hovering some 20 meters off the ground.
Much to the delight and disbelief of the crowd below, the bloke in the hammock looks pretty relaxed, I’d wager some cash that says he’s probably scared stiff though!
Many have called the validity of the video into question saying it’s probably a dummy in the hammock. But even if it was just a test run, it is still a pretty exciting development for the future of solo human flight! Sign me up for a turn, actually, yeah nah f*ck that.
Watch out for power lines, bro!
